I am the President of Ralston College. I am also a Member of the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Platonism. I was a Teaching Fellow in the Foundation Year Programme at the University of King’s College from 2001-2003. I was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard in 2008-2009, and a Research Scholar at the University of Toronto from 2010-2015.

Other Positions

I helped to found an inner-city youth mentoring program, St George’s YouthNet, and was Director of that organization for two years (1999-2001), during which I had the humbling privilege to spend time with many young people whose lot in life made their challenges nearly insurmountable but whose love and intelligence were yet undiminished.

A Little More About me

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I have lived there, in rural Prince Edward Island, and Halifax, southern France, Toronto, Boston, Paris, Rome, the mountains of Vermont, and now Savannah.

I studied Classics at King's College (BA, Vind.) and Dalhousie University (MA), and Religion at Emory University (PhD).

I am a citizen of Canada (by birth) and of the United States (immigration in 1994; naturalization in 2009).

I worked for many years during the summer in educational travel, during which I had the opportunity to take hundreds of people, of all ages and very varied backgrounds, through many of the great sites and achievements, landscapes, languages, and cultures, of Europe. These experiences have shaped my sense of the achievements of past, and of their power to awaken us to ourselves.
